Traditional Chinese medicineand pharmacognosy laboratory is approved by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is one of the modern researching bases of traditional Chinese Medicine in Zunyi. The laboratory has completed 2 national assigned research projects, 4 provincial projects, 1 municipal issued project and obtained 2 provincial achievements, 1 municipal achievement. The lab organized teachers to compile 14 textbooks, 11 other works and to publish 50 dissertations. There are 6 professors and associate professors, 2 post-doctors, 1 doctor and 4 masters in the lab. Now the lab has many relevant types of equipment and it can take many tasks and community services:

1. Chinese herbal medicine identification;

2. Constructing and researching GAP cultivation base;

3. Cultivating endangered plants;

4. Educating graduate students of traditionalChinese medicine major;

5. Domesticating and researching wild traditional Chinese medicine;

6. Extracting and analyzing the active components of Chinese Medicine.
