On March 10th, counselors gathered in the counselor studio on the fourth floor of the school’s Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine for an in-depth discussion on how to improve their current work.
The studio, adorned with a long table, a dozen small swivel chairs, and simple yet warm decor, glowed under cozy lighting. “We not only use the studio for learning and exchanging ideas but also for one-on-one talks with students. The quiet environment makes it easier for students to open up,” the counselors praised.
“Mentorship has always been our tradition. During regular meetings, experienced counselors share insights to help new colleagues adapt quickly,” explained a teacher from the Student Affairs Office of the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The studio, named “Xinglin Guoguo” (Apricot Grove Fruits) in alignment with the school’s “Red Medical Culture” ethos, has also launched a WeChat official account to publish counselors’ experiences and reflections.
“As a platform for innovative educational concepts and methods, the counselor studio aims to cultivate expert-level backbone counselors, fostering teamwork and professional growth to enhance the overall competence of the counseling team,” said a representative from the school’s Student Affairs Office. The school plans to invest dedicated funds to support the studio’s development, ensuring a solid foundation for nurturing well-rounded socialist builders and successors with moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic, and labor education.
